Coaches Corner with Lori Shook

1. Who or what inspired you to do what you do?
During the time I was working as an engineer for the US Navy, I felt that there must be something else more satisfying than hunting submarines. I was inspired by environmental activism, eastern philosophy, meditation, consciousness, and personal development programmes.

2. What do you find the most challenging about your work?
Admin! 😊.

3. What’s the biggest lesson you have learnt in recent years?
Fairness is completely subjective and even made up. Nobody is making sure that carpe diem is alive and well, i.e., that what we put out will actually come back around. It is really up to us and our own way of viewing what is fair.

4. If you could wave a magic wand and have one wish for you or your coaching practice, what would it be and why?
Continuing a stream of great clients long into the future.

5. Tell us a fact that not many people know about you …
I used to work on Main Street, Disneyland (the original in Anaheim, California). I learnt a lot about what makes and does not make a great working culture (both were very present in that organisation).
