Coaches Corner with Kate Hesk
1. Who or what inspired you to do what you do?
I’m driven by a value of making a difference in the world (cheesy as that may sound!). I am drawn to building something valuable in a space that isn’t already well supported. Building and enabling a global community of coaches and improving the Mental Fitness of the planet are what I wake up each day thinking about.
2. What do you find the most challenging about your work?
Up until very recently it felt as though we were needing to educate people about Mental Fitness and why it was important. With the event of COVID-19, it is much more evident and accepted that proactively supporting and developing Mental Fitness and preventing mental ill-health is essential.
3. What’s the biggest lesson you have learnt in recent years?
Vulnerability and courage are at the heart of being at our best.
4. What advice would you give to new coaches?
Trust the coaching process and be truly present in your coaching and you will add enormous value.
5. If you could wave a magic wand and have one wish for you or your coaching practice, what would it be and why?
That Mental Fitness is recognised and understood as an essential quality for anyone to be able to be at their best.
