October Event: "Exploring what works for whom. Towards more evidence-based coaching" with Dr. Tim Anstiss
We had such an erudite and insightful learning experience on Tuesday 17th October with Coach/Educator Dr Tim Anstiss. Tim walked us through a plethora of research and engaged us in discussion and debate about "What works for whom? Towards an evidence based approach for coaching". He made the complex easy to understand and engaged us in sharing our perspectives. Tim succeeded in harvesting our awareness and understanding of the many facets of theory which underpin successful interventions we can make as coaches. He shared his 7 step framework to facilitate successful change. And a huge thank you to Dr.Tim Anstiss for his time, curiosity and wisdom. We are privileged to gain greater clarity on what works for whom.
Here's what attendees had to say:
“I was glad that I attended Dr Tim Anstiss session on Tuesday. The session was filled with valuable insights for coaches. I like how he interweaved different evidence-based theories (Hope, Self-efficacy, self-determination, wellbeing, self-perception and self-discrepancy) and tools into coaching. My takeaway is that as coaches, we need to stay curious, open and experiment with evidence-based tools to have the skills and tools ready to work with our clients, whoever they may be and whatever issues they bring to the coaching session. Thank you to The London Coaching Group for organising tonight's event.”

For September event feedback:
"I loved Claire's energy, clarity and coaching. I especially liked how she talked about the human aspect of coaching and getting the thinker out of his head and into his body, to create movement in his thinking”
“I thought the demonstration and discussion Q& A afterwards was really insightful and inspiring. Claire was a natural presenter ( apart from a great coach!) She was accessible and refreshing“ “Thank you so much I appreciate live coaching with a huge audience might be challenging so I appreciate the vulnerability...it was such a valuable experience"
"Super interesting session observing the energetic Claire Pedrick, MCC at work. Changing the accepted nomenclature by moving from "client" to "thinker"'; paying special attention to "finding the work" before anything else, and changing the space to promote new thinking were only some of the new learnings I walked away with.
"Insightful to watch and reflect on mastery in coaching with Claire Pedrick, inviting us to really consider how we truly work in partnership and co-create. And great to hear her mention improv training as a great development opportunity for coaching. Music to my ears!’"
"Just wanted to thank you for last night's MCC demo with Claire Pedrick. She has such a warm and inviting personality. It's no wonder she has so much success as a coach. I found it really helpful to see what aspirational coaching looks like, and the breakout rooms were excellent too. Please can we have more of the same?"
“It was really interesting to observe Claire’s client achieve transformational results in a short time with so few words and such a simple process. Claire’s suggestion to have specific questions in mind for ourselves as observers was very useful and gave focus. Claire is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. I appreciated her clear, robust answers to the questions following the demo."
