Coaches Corner with Lisa Farr
1. Who or what inspired you to do what you do?
Originally when I trained as a coach back in 1999, I sensed the transformative power of coaching and it's not left me alone since!
Currently I'm often inspired by the coaches I work with, especially when I see them getting opportunities to take their work out into the world in a bigger way than they thought possible. It is also such a thrill to share their celebrations when they get new, ideal clients coming onboard.
2. What do you find the most challenging about your work?
For the most part I find my work a joy, it's such a pleasure to see coaches transforming their business skills and gaining greater confidence in their ability to win new clients.
The most challenging is probably having too many creative ideas and not being able to implement them all at once! I see that as something I have in common with other coaches. Many of the coaches I work with are creative, visionary and often a little bit ahead of their time.
3. What's the biggest lesson you have learnt in recent years?
That I can't do it all by myself and it's much more fun to work with others. I now have more people helping me in the business plus my own personal mentor.
4. If you could wave a magic wand and have one wish for you or your coaching practice, what would it be and why?
To develop more deeply the mindset dimension of my work. I've always included this in my work but I have a deep desire to take this to the next level.
I would estimate that 95% of our business results come from our mindset and beliefs. Therefore I am currently developing this aspect of my work as I see it help coaches get the quickest results with the least effort. And I love helping people get the best results with the least effort!
5. Tell us a fact that not many people know about you ...
I'm allergic to brazil nuts - no idea why, I've never even been to Brazil!
