Coaches Corner with Louise E. Taylor
1. Who or what inspired you to do what you do?
There isn’t one person or situation that springs to mind as there have been so many people who have helped, inspired, or motivated me to create and deliver what I do both in business and the arts. I found what I love to do as a result of listening to my intuition.
There are three books that inspired me and changed my life: The Tao of Poo by Benjamin Hoff - full of stories and poems that I used to use in my holistic business training workshops – now I write my own. Nick Williams’ the international coach and mentor: The Work You Were Born to do – and his subsequent books which I turn to regularly – and The Artists Way by Julia Cameron – by my bedside. Nick subsequently became a mentor, and I was a member of his Inspired Entrepreneurs Group. Going to an Arvon Foundation Comedy Writing course was life changing and inspired me to keep writing and performing comedy.
2. What do you find the most challenging about your work.
Finding the time and headspace to finish my book: The Golden Wheel Stories for Steering Yourself Through Change.
3. What’s the biggest lesson you have learnt in recent years?
That being creative and having a sense of humour are the only ways through the seemingly uncopeable from grief to the pandemic.
4. If you could wave a magic wand and have one wish for you or your coaching practice, what would it be and why?
That today I am packing for my UK business book tour whilst listening to my sitcom on Radio 4. Fulfilment of dreams and my legacy.
5. Tell us a fact that not many people know about you…
I learnt to tap dance at the age of 30 and passed my intermediate exam for mature students! I can still do a Suzy Q!
