1. Who or what inspired you to start your line of work?
I saw how overwhelming and confusing marketing was for small businesses. Where once all you needed was a brochure and some business cards to nail your marketing, suddenly there was so much to think about. From SEO to PPC, from blogs to vlogs, argh - it all just got so complicated!
I wanted to demystify and simplify marketing for coaches, consultants and other small business owners so they could grow their businesses without the overwhelm.
2. What is your favourite thing about your work?
The people! It’s a real privilege to be able to choose my clients. I particularly love working with coaches because they’re thoughtful, interesting people. And I always learn a lot from them too…
3. What’s the biggest lesson you have learnt in recent years?
Putting my full personality into my brand is gold dust for my business. When I started out as a consultant nearly 10 years ago, I was nervous about putting myself ‘out there’ as I worried what people might think. Would they like me? Would they think I was showing off?
However, I’ve learned that the more ‘me’ I am in my business, the better clients I attract, the more successful I am and the more fun I have. And this is what I teach my coaching clients now too.
4. If you could wave a magic wand and have one wish for you or your work, what would it be and why?
Well I’m hoping that my big wish for 2020 (finishing and launching my book on email writing) won’t need a magic wand, but if you’ve got one going spare I’m sure it wouldn’t go to waste!
