Developing Mindfulness and Presence

As coaches, perhaps the most precious gift we can offer to our clients is our total presence. This session will explore how we can use mindfulness and meditation to:

·            Be present and attentive to our clients – with the confidence to lay down our tools and techniques and simply be

·            Be present and attentive to ourselves, more able to work with our own emotional states and how they are affecting our interactions with the client and our coaching practice

·            Help clients to develop their own resources of mindfulness and presence, become more confident and reduce anxiety

The session will draw on our own experiences of coaching and supervision and the work of Peter Senge and Alexander Caillet. It will introduce approaches to developing mindfulness, derived from meditation techniques and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy.

Ian Mackenzie and Peter Welch have over 20 years experience in coaching and running interactive workshops. They are accredited Coach Supervisors with the Coaching Supervision Academy and offer supervision to coaches of all levels of experience.

Ian is an experienced meditator and meditation teacher who has worked in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy. Peter is an NLP practitioner with experience in Appreciative Inquiry, group facilitation – and African drumming!
