Consolidating the Business Case for Coaching
Although coaching is increasingly used in corporations, the limited amount of ROI information and sporadic bad press has fuelled a view that coaching may be an expensive mystic art, rather than a consistently reliable business tool. There is a growing demand for hard facts about the benefits of coaching.
In fact, coaching has a significant impact on business performance, and I will pull together the data to show the business argument and strong ROI figures - compelling information to present to any business.
Quilken’s own study walks through the linkage between coaching and the bottom line and shows a wide range of 3-1000 times ROI. I can summarise factors influencing returns, and key findings about perception of coaching value.
Ultimately, this becomes a call to other coaches to face the ROI discussion head on and also become more disciplined in their own measurement of business impact – so they can -
· Maximise the value for clients by highlighting & focussing attention on core learning, progress and pinpointing solutions they can re-use.
· Demonstrate the balance, interplay and value of direct & indirect benefits
· Increase the body of credible data available in the market place
